Tips For Wearing Gothic Makeup
By her-tips

For decades there has been an underworld culture that rarely awakes before the sun sets. Spurred into life by fantastical stories of witches, vampires, and other ghoulish spirits, the gothic subset is not one for the faint of heart. You have all seen them, gothic makeup creating ephemeral faces of white. Heavy black eyeliner is their preferred drug of choice, and they tend to create magnificent artwork directly on their faces.

Hard as it may be to believe, the gothic look isn’t just for Halloween. The Eyes – Oh, The Eyes

Once you have you foundation firmly in place, the eyes are the second most important part of the gothic makeup look. Heavy black liner should be used to line the entire eyelid, both top and bottom; and black eye shadow is typically used on the upper eyelid to complete the look.

Blood Red

The last part of the gothic makeup look is the blood red lipstick used. The deepest red you can find should be used, and it is recommended that you apply it with a brush in order to get the best coverage. Never use a bright red lipstick, and beware that you don’t choose a lip color with pink undertones. If you are unable to find a blood red color, it is acceptable to complete your gothic makeup look with a burgundy shade.

Gothic makeup surely isn’t for everyone. But if you have decided that you like the look, or that you just want to use it to dress up for a special occasion, gothic makeup is easy to apply, and creates a dramatic and bold statement.
